Modernist Frontier proudly presents “Homecoming” by Jono Tew from September 12 – October 14. Artist Reception on Friday, September 13th from 5 to 8 pm.
When Jono Tew first moved to rural New Mexico over fourteen years ago he was consumed by its pastoral solitude and fluid contours. Inspired by the regionalist painters, for many years he made that countryside the primary subject of his work. After a hiatus in which he explored themes from a broader western scenery, Jono has revisited his northern New Mexico landscapes with the intention of infusing the familiar with a fresh perspective.
